Yard Spotter

JOB SUMMARY

Mid America Paper Recycling has an immediate opening for a CDL Yard Spotter at our Chicago, IL plant. This role is responsible for safely moving, spotting and securing trailers for unloading/loading, and communicating with dispatch. Driver will also be responsible for performing routine equipment inspections, following DOT and company safety policies and assisting with other responsibilities when needed.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Safely move and spot trailers within the yard and to/from loading docks
• Ensure trailers are properly positioned and secured for loading/unloading
• Perform routine inspections of trailers and equipment
• Communicate trailer moves to dispatch
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company policies
• Assist with general yard organization and housekeeping as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a current Class A CDL (required) and two years of verifiable Class A experience
• Must be 23 years old or older
• Must have a good driving record and knowledge of DOT regulations
• Previous yard spotter or yard jockey experience preferred
• Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $26.40 per hour
