<div><strong>Job Summary / Overview</strong></div><div><br></div><div>The Senior Engineer within the Ministry Technology organization, is responsible for guiding the architecture, development, and delivery of mission-driven digital products. This role partners closely with product leaders, ministry stakeholders, and external engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions that support global Scripture engagement and distribution initiatives.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></div><div><br></div><div>Architecture</div><ul><li class="">Lead system architecture design across multiple products and platforms.</li><li class="">Define and communicate a shared technical vision aligned with long-term organizational strategy.</li><li class="">Make key decisions on frameworks, services, and technical approaches to reduce complexity and promote reuse.</li><li class="">Write and review code as needed, ranging from light contributions to development of high-impact components, integrations, and prototypes.</li></ul><div><br></div><div>Product Collaboration</div><ul><li class="">Partner with product managers and ministry stakeholders to evaluate early-stage concepts and technical feasibility.</li><li class="">Translate product ideas into clear technical plans, identifying risks, constraints, and delivery strategies.</li><li class="">Provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and iteration.</li></ul><div><br></div><div>Vendor Oversight & Quality Assurance</div><ul><li class="">Provide architectural and code review for deliverables produced by external development teams.</li><li class="">Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, security best practices, and maintainability expectations.</li><li class="">Onboard and guide vendors into established workflows and technology standards, maintaining clear delivery checkpoints.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></div><div><br></div><ul><li class="">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.</li><li class="">5+ years of full-stack software development experience.</li><li class="">Proven ability to architect, design, and deliver scalable web applications.</li><li class="">Strong proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript.</li><li class="">Experience with modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.</li><li class="">Hands-on experience with AWS serverless infrastructure (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).</li><li class="">Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and strong SQL skills.</li><li class="">Experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.</li><li class="">Demonstrated experience overseeing external or outsourced development teams.</li><li class="">Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></div><div><br></div><ul><li class="">Experience working across multiple products, teams, or product lines.</li><li class="">Familiarity with offline-first, cross-platform, or mobile web application development.</li><li class="">Understanding of internationalization, localization, and accessibility best practices.</li><li class="">Experience with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, or Notion.</li><li class="">Exposure to additional languages or platforms (e.g., Python, Go, C#, Azure, Firebase).</li><li class="">Prior experience in a nonprofit, faith-based, or mission-driven technology environment.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong>Additional Information</strong></div><div><br></div><ul><li class=""><strong>Work Environment:</strong> Remote role within the United States, with optional office space available at a corporate headquarters location.</li><li class=""><strong>Core Hours:</strong> Standard business hours with required overlap with Eastern Time.</li><li class=""><strong>Travel:</strong> Occasional domestic travel (2–5 times per year).</li><li class=""><strong>Mission Alignment:</strong> Candidates must demonstrate alignment with the organization’s faith-based mission, values, and commitment to spiritual growth and service.</li><li class=""><strong>Spiritual Commitment:</strong> Active participation in a Christian church, commitment to Christian ethics and conduct, and integration of faith into daily work are essential.</li><li class=""><strong>Employment Requirements:</strong> Background checks, reference checks, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and agreement to uphold organizational standards and statements of faith are required.</li><li class=""><strong>Equal Opportunity:</strong> The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and providing reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws.</li></ul><div></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
