If working under these values excite you, read on: Your Role: A Legal Calculator is responsible for completing all Legal boundary calculation work assigned to them using various CAD software packages. Legal Calculators are responsible for preparing the Legal calculations to facilitate deliverables at IBW. In addition to boundary calculations, the Legal Calculators may be responsible for plan checking and preparing field instructions for legal fieldwork. The Calculator is required to communicate with the Project Manager of their assigned actions to ensure the scope and requirements are clear and is also to communicate with the Drafting Team Lead, who sets the direction for the legal calculation processes, regarding processes and the work in general. Your Responsibilities <ul> <li>Complete boundary calculations</li> <li>Complete 1st Draft Reviews for legal plans</li> <li>Check plans by working closely with the signing OLS and drafting staff</li> <li>Complete plan closures</li> <li>Calculate reference plans</li> <li>Complete calculation sketches that clearly show the assessment of evidence in accordance with recognized legal principles</li> <li>Calculation sketches show the methodology of boundary retracement making it obvious allowing for the signing OLS to understand the available options and the decisions made</li> <li>Calculation sketches must be clear for the the CAD Operator drafting</li> <li>Recognizes when consultation with the signing OLS is required for challenging boundary retracements or when the calculations are beyond their capabilities</li> <li>Read and assess metes and bounds descriptions</li> <li>Knowledge of proper research and ability to identify when additional research material is required</li> <li>Knowledge of AOLS and IBW Standards</li> <li>Knowledge of how to obtain additional research material as required</li> <li>Knowledge of how to prepare a file for fieldwork and to ensure that it is properly organized for the field crew</li> <li>Recognizes when consultation with the Project Manager is required</li> <li>Recognizes when consultation with the Team Lead is required</li> <li>Recognizes when more evidence is required</li> <li>Understanding of the IBW CAD and Quality Control processes.</li> <li>Follows all IBW protocols in regards to processes in relation to calculation sketches, CAD drawings, upload files, etc.</li> </ul> Your Benefits: <ul> <li>Competitive compensation, including generous food and travel per diems for use at your discretion</li> <li>Partial Employer-paid comprehensive health and dental benefits</li> <li>Flexible work hours</li> <li>RRSP with employer matched contributions</li> <li>Travel opportunities</li> <li>Safety wear allowance </li> <li>Training and development</li> <li>Educational assistance</li> <li>Company Events</li> </ul> To learn more about IBW Surveyors, visit our website: <a href="https://ibwsurveyors.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://ibwsurveyors.com/</a> IBW Surveyors is an equal-opportunity employer.
