Always following best practices.</p><p><strong>The role</strong></p><p>As a Back-end Engineer, you will be the technical engine behind our global connectivity platform, ensuring our services are scalable and resilient. You will own the development of high-performance APIs, directly enabling millions of users to stay connected anywhere in the world.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Build and optimise mission-critical microservices using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).</p></li><li><p>Engineer Quality Frameworks by implementing robust unit testing (Pytest) and automated quality checks to ensure elite code standards.</p></li><li><p>Architect scalable APIs from scratch, ensuring they can handle high-concurrency traffic during peak travel seasons.</p></li><li><p>Eliminate technical debt by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, including N+1 query issues and asynchronous task optimisation.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate across borders with Product and QA teams to translate complex business logic into maintainable technical solutions.</p></li><li><p>Champion best practices in the software life-cycle, from design patterns and documentation to comprehensive code reviews.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>5+ years of experience in backend development with a mastery of Django and Django REST Framework (DRF).</p></li><li><p>Strong expertise in Unit Testing and establishing quality-first development frameworks.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience designing microservices architectures and integrating complex third-party ecosystem applications.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in asynchronous programming and managing high-load database queries.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Good to have</strong></p><ul><li><p>Fluency or professional working proficiency in Spanish.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Silk or other performance profiling tools.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Benefits & Perks</strong></p><ul><li><p>25 Days of PTO</p></li><li><p>5% pension contribution</p></li><li><p>€ 3000 for Medical/Health coverage</p></li><li><p>Self development budget of $ 500</p></li></ul>
