Architectural Technologist Role Summary

A well-established design practice is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join its growing technical team. The studio works across a diverse range of hospitality and commercial projects throughout the UK, including refurbishment, fit-out, and heritage-led schemes.

This role would suit a technically strong Architectural Technologist with experience delivering projects through the technical and construction stages. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of coordinated, compliant, and high-quality technical information across a varied portfolio of projects.

The Role

You will support the delivery of projects across multiple sectors, working closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the design and construction process. Responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and coordinating technical drawing packages across RIBA stages 3–5
  • Developing detailed technical solutions and construction information
  • Assisting with technical coordination and project delivery
  • Ensuring designs comply with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Supporting refurbishment and fit-out projects across a range of building types
  • Coordinating with consultants and external project teams
  • Resolving technical and construction detailing challenges
  • Contributing to a collaborative and delivery-focused studio environment

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician
  • Minimum three years’ experience within a UK architectural practice
  • Strong technical design and detailing experience
  • Experience producing technical drawing packages through RIBA stages 3–5
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, technical standards, and construction methodologies
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience working on refurbishment or commercial projects would be advantageous
  • CIAT accreditation or working towards chartership would be beneficial
